Covid-19'un Güney Afrika'da ortaya çıkan Omicron mutasyonu Birleşik Krallık'ta hızla yayılmaya devam ediyor. Birleşik Krallık Sağlık Güvenliği Ajansı (UKHSA) tarafından yapılan açıklamada, Birleşik Krallık'ta son 24 saatte 12 bin 133 yeni Omicron vakası tespit edildiği ve toplam Omicron vaka sayısını 37 bin 101'e yükseldiği aktarıldı.

Birleşik Krallık'ta Omicron mutasyonu ilk kez 27 Kasım'da Güney Afrika'ya seyahat geçmişi olan 2 kişide tespit edilmişti.

Birleşik Krallık'ta salgının başından bu yana toplam vaka sayısı 11 milyon 279 bin 428'e, toplam can kaybı ise 147 bin 173'e yükseldi.
